Contact: Julian Amedee |
Founder and co-owner of Sports Fitness Experience, Julian brings a passion and expertise for fitness that is matched only by his desire to educate those around him. In 1989, Julian started a track career that took him through four years at Georgia Tech, where he achieved various honors, including two NCAA National Championships and three All-American awards. In 2005, Julian was inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame for these achievements. After college he continued his track career professionally for another six years. In 1996, Julian began his career as a personal trainer at Sportslife to supplement his track career.
By 2001 when he retired from the track circuit, Julian furthered his fitness scope by becoming an NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. It was at this time that Julian founded SFX as a medium to train athletes. While still working out of various private facilities, Julian took the time to advance his knowledge and network with people in the fitness industry. With all the increasing information and his own personal experiences, Julian realized that he needed a place to be able to share his philosophy of “Lifestyle Training,” (training the body to perform everyday) with the masses In 2007, this dream was finally realized when Julian opened Sports Fitness Experience in Roswell, GA. At this facility, Julian is able to train and educate people without any judgment or prejudice. The use of high intensity, ground-based strength exercises and sports performance techniques help both personal training clients and athletes achieve and surpass their fitness and athletic goals.

Contact: Jill Muccio |
Jill’s fitness journey started after the birth of her second child. Jill had been active playing tennis and lifting weights, but the birth of two children close in age left little time to make it a priority. Eager to lose the baby weight, she decided to elicit the help of a personal trainer. The love of exercise was born! Jill trained with Julian Amedee, co-owner of SFX, for 8 years, and saw great results in her physical shape, and her inner athlete emerged! Exercise became a way of life!
In addition to weight lifting, Jill found a love of kickboxing and became certified through AFAA and Turbo Kick in 2007. She became an instructor at LA Fitness, and loved the group fitness arena. With the opening of SFX and The UnderGround at SFX, Jill was able to marry her love of fitness training and group fitness.
Jill became a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer in 2009. She continues to teach group classes at the UnderGround and train clients, helping them find their inner athlete! Jill also conducts boot camps at SFX, and with the introduction of High Octane On The Run can be seen in a neighborhood near you!

Contact: Shelly Petree |
As an avid runner in her teens and twenties, Shelley’s interest in health and fitness began at a young age. When a friend encouraged her to join a gym and begin strength training, what started as a hobby quickly became a passion. Shelley was a stay-at-home mom with 2 young children when she hired a personal trainer who became a mentor and inspiration for her to pursue a career in personal training. Shelley became certified as a Personal Trainer through American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 1995. Her clientele quickly grew, and for the next 4 years. She ran a thriving business out of her large home gym, where her clients could train in a private setting. Shelley attributes some of her success to being a client of a personal trainer and a “people person.” She has enjoyed consistent client retention, with some clients training for as long as 7 years. Those clients insist they would never make it to the gym if Shelley wasn’t there to push them through their workout. Shelley’s training technique has evolved over the years from the basic weight lifting workout to the more current method of full body or “lifestyle” training. Shelley’s workouts include a variety of activities such as flexibility, balance, strength training, core work, and cardio. Shelley trained at a private facility in Roswell, GA from 2002 to 2007 where she met and worked with Julian Amedee. Shelley joined Julian in November 2007 when he opened SFX. With 14 years of training behind her, Shelley plans to remain an inspiration to those pursuing their fitness goals.

Contact: Mark Pozin |
Originally from Moscow, Russia, Mark was raised in the US, after his parents immigrated in 1977. A summa cum laude graduate of Auburn University, he found himself drawn to fitness and weight training while still in college, eventually settling on powerlifting as his avocation of choice. In 3 years of participation in American Powerlifting Association sponsored events, his credits included a 505 lb. bench press, 661 lb. deadlift, and 680 lb. squat (in the superheavyweight class).
After retiring from the sport, Mark decided to parlay his knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as his practical experience in weightlifting, into a career as a personal trainer. Driven by a desire to help individuals reach their fitness, strength, and endurance goals, he entered the profession in 2002, working at Kaz Fitness Center in Auburn, AL (a gym opened by 3-time World’s Strongest Man Bill Kazmaier). The following year Mark moved to Atlanta, where he has trained clients in both large facilities such as LA Fitness and the private studios Body Fusion and SFX in Roswell. He is certified by NESTA (National Exercise and Sports Training Association) and has worked with individuals ranging in age from 11 to 75. Mark is also trilingual, speaking English, Russian, and Spanish, and pursues a second career as an opera singer, performing with such companies as the Capitol City Opera and Amici Opera Company in Philadelphia.

Contact: Dan Smith |
Dan was born and raised in Miami, FL where he pursued his B.S. degree in Health Education with a specialty in Exercise Physiology at Florida International University. Upon graduation in 1995, Dan started his career in the fitness industry with a company that managed private and corporate wellness facilities. The first club he worked at was also the official training facility for the Miami Heat. Dan had the opportunity to work with their head strength coach, Bill Foran, taking the athletes through their strength training workouts. In addition to working with The Heat players, Dan also worked with a professional heavyweight boxer, Jorge Valdes who later had a heavyweight contention fight with Shannon Briggs.
In 1998, Dan and his beautiful wife-to-be Catherine, moved to Atlanta, settled in the Roswell area, and started personal training at a small private facility. He was able to quickly develop a full time clientele base. Soon there after, Dan decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge and open Body Fusion, an exclusive personal training facility in Roswell. He offered something new to the industry, a full scale fitness facility exclusively providing personal training services with no memberships. This allowed for a private and exclusive environment where the client was always the focus. After five years of being in business, Dan sold his business and is now here at SFX with his long-time group of clients who keep him on his toes. Dan has clients that have been with him for over 8 years now and don’t have plans of going anywhere else. Dan has developed long lasting relationships with his clients through respect, good listening skills, and the ability to motivate the individual to achieve what they want. In addition to training for weight loss, strength, endurance, and overall transformations, Dan specializes in Core Power Golf, a specialized golf-specific performance training program he has devised to enhance a golfer’s power, stability, core strength, and endurance. He has partnered with a couple local PGA professionals to collaborate on technique and effectiveness of specific exercises and can also have your swing analysis performed in order to focus on weaknesses and enhance strengths.
