Welcome

Welcome to the end of school edition of “The Experience”. I pray that this finds you at a positive time of your day. If not, just remember that school is out this week for most and in less than 10 days for the rest. If that doesn’t get you excited then I don’t know what to tell you. Some of the joys of summer include vacations, going to the beach / pool, less traffic on the road and no fighting with the kids to get up in the morning (unless they have summer school). What is funny is that you are hearing this from someone who’s schedule really doesn’t change in the summer that much.

So I would like to talk today about going outside of your comfort zone. I could get real deep with this and talk about business and personal life, but I will stick to fitness this time. When it comes to fitness and your health it is not wise to do the same thing over and over. Your body becomes more efficient at it and in turn burns less fat. Now I know that a lot of classes or training sessions vary greatly so that you are doing different things every time, but doing something different will not hurt.

The reason that I bring this up is because of a special gym workout that we had this past Saturday. First of all let me thank everyone that did show up and participate. We raise approximately $250 for Cale and his family and I know they were very appreciative. I was going to take this time to blast my gym members, but decided that I need to keep these writings positive. Let me just say that I am very appreciative for the people who did come out a show support for a cause and a little kid that they knew nothing about, even if it took them out of their normal Saturday routine.

So what I am trying to say is to try something different every once in a while. The worse thing that could happen is that you may like it. So if you are only working on the training floor, try out a group class. And if you only do classes, step out of the room and do some weight room work. Even if you just want to stay in the group room, at least try some different classes. Your body will actually like it and you will get a huge health benefit because of it.

As always thank you for taking the time to read my message and I hope that you found at least a bit of inspiration in what I had to say. Please take the time to look at the great information on the rest of this newsletter and remember to leave your comments on the Face Book page (The newsletter will be posted there as well). Also please go to the web site for more fitness tips, like us on Face Book, follow us on Twitter and You Tube with the buttons on the side and check-in / leave a review on Yelp. You will get some great training videos and information while seeing the workings of the SFX staff and clients. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Focus on Strengths Not Weaknesses

At job interviews we are often asked a question that, what actions we have taken in the past to improve our weaknesses and we wonder why the interviewer can't ask about our achievements. The answer is simple; he wants to know how well we have learned to focus on our strengths and not wasted time and energy on the weaknesses.

People are often taught that in order to be successful, they have to overcome those tasks and incapacities which they battle to perform. All historical, corporate, sports and science geniuses have focused merely on building their strong points. These masterminds are considered epitome of wishful thinking and not only have they been triumphant in their fields, they have set an example that one should love to accomplish his goals. You should have the nerve to follow your heart and instincts.

If you really want to be thriving, your focus should not be on attempting to amend those areas which characterize our weaknesses. It takes away from us, vigor, time and labors from chasing what should be our actual goals. Life is quite short to be lived like someone else's. If we observe noticeably there are people around us who have shaped their lives based on the strengths they hold.

The ideal place to begin a similar journey is to look into our own strengths and which will unquestionably lead us to a greater sense of success, contentment and delight in our lives. Once you locate the areas where you can attain the most, it becomes easier to pursue those areas and contribute positive energy on the whole. This enables you to face challenges despite hardships and do the work which you love doing and outshine others with.

However it does not mean that you totally neglect your weaknesses. Explore the hidden skills within you, you never know it may be one of your weaknesses!
