Darcy is a very busy, active person who loves to exercise. She became interested in lifting weights when her husband was attending graduate school. In 1996, Darcy pursued a personal training certification and trained part-time at Emory University while working at the American Cancer Society. She hasn’t taken a break from exercise in 15 years. She also stayed consistent with her exercise routine during two pregnancies.
In 2006, Darcy became a certified group fitness instructor specializing in weight training and boot camp classes. In 2006, she also became a fitness competitor in several figure competitions. She had an article about being a fit and busy mom in the September 2006 Atlanta Sports and Fitness Magazine and April 2007 Oxygen Magazine. She also decided to become a Juice Plus distributor so she can help educate her clients and classes about healthy, clean eating.
In Darcy’s late 20’s, she participated in several 10 K’s. In October 2007, she wanted another challenge and trained for her first half marathon. Darcy ran the Silver Comet Half Marathon with a top score in her age group of one hour and 48 minutes.
In July 2009, at age 35, Darcy decided to participate in another fitness/figure competition (Fit Sciences). She got 2nd place Novice for Fitness, the Classic Award for Figure, and 3rd Place Hot Moms. Her hard work and determination paid off.
Darcy loves a challenge and loves to help others out with their fitness goals. She is a high-energy person who desires new experiences and loves to motivate others. She loves teaching Core Strength at SFX and is eager to help others.
