6/15/2010 The
Experience (How do you see it?)
|
Welcome to the June edition of “The
Experience”. I pray that this finds you at a positive time of your day.
If not, I pray that something read or even inferred in this newsletter will
help change your view of the day. Life is too short to let yourself be
crippled by issues and problems. If our lives took a turn for the worse
every time we faced something, nothing would ever get done in the
world. Now believe me that I know that some issues are a lot deeper
then others and yes we are allowed some time for it to affect us. But
the majority of the things that we call “real problems” are issues that we
have no control over or if really examined turn out not to be as bad.
With that being said take the time to day and really look deep into yourself
(your issues) and find out how bad they truly are. Today I want to talk about something that I am
going through personally, through my business. All of the basketball
fans out there know and if you are not a fan you may have heard that the
basketball community lost a great man recently. John Wooden, the former
UCLA basketball coach passed away at a young 99 years old and left behind a
great deal of wisdom. One of his quotes that expresses my topic is “If
you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” What a great quote that
speaks the truth, but which is also hard to live by all the time. I
have been a little better over the last year with planning for the
future. Business ownership will make you do that if you want to stay
open. With this recent move and new facility I have been hit by
reality. I was so focused on the move and making sure that we got over
here with as little time off as possible that I forgot to plan for when we
opened. I forgot to plan our marketing, so we have cancelled a few events
that were on our schedule for the last month. I forgot to plan for
getting the word out about our speed camps, so as of right now we have a low
turnout. I also forgot to plan for other business issues, so I am
feeling the effects of that as well. But, there is a bright side to all
of this, the first step in making changes, I have realized and acknowledged
it. Now it is time to take action to correct the issues at hand.
I encourage you to do the same with whatever you have on your plate. Take
a moment and acknowledge the issues and then decide to take actions to make
them right. Keep this saying in mind “THOUGHTS WITHOUT ACTION ARE JUST
DREAMS” I am committed to make SFX one of the biggest
small business success stories in the Atlanta area. This is going
against the status quo of “non-major” fitness facilities, and all the
nay-Sayers in the business world. One of my major moves is to try to
offer services that are in demand and are effective. With that in mind
I need your help. Please share any ideas or concepts or services that
you feel may benefit SFX and our clients. Now let me put some control
over this. Please let these ideas be feasible. Let them have a
hint of reality and please don’t get offended if we do not use the
idea. I thank you in advance for your help with this and for supporting
SFX along the way. Please be on the look out for bigger and better
things from us in the coming years. Julian A. Amedee Special

& Tangy Salmon It's
barbeque season, and what better to throw on the grill than a tender fillet
