You Are Never too Old to Set A Goal

Not long ago, owner and trainer Julian Amedee, turned the big 4-0. Weeks prior to the big date, Julian decided to set a personal goal- to do his first muscle-up by the big date. If you're not aware of what a muscle-up is, it is a full body pull-up, that relies on strict technique and momentum, to follow through into a dip. In other words, it's far from easy. Julian used time out of his days practicing, on top of his workouts, in order to get his technique down.

The goal date came quickly, as almost all goal dates do (no matter the length). After an arduous workout, the now 40 year old Julian, attempted his first muscle-up... It was a no go, so he tried again. Again, he didn't get it. However, Julian did not give up. On his fourth try, Julian was successful in completing his first ever muscle-up, but (most importantly), he followed through with his goal and didn't give up.

This is an important lesson for everyone. Whether you are over-weight and out of shape or an athlete trying to enhance your performance, you should always set goals and never give up. Even if you fail, try again. It's always better to know you tried, than dwelling on never attempting. There's never an excuse to not set a goal and try your best to achieve it!
